May and might (futuro)

Regla facil:

En ingles utilizamos may y might para hablar de sucesos posibles en el futuro.

Estudia estos ejemplos:

1) Futuro

Ejemplos

Ingles:

I'm not sure where to go on my vacation, but I may go to Puerto Rico.

Español:

No estoy segura de donde ir en mis vacaciones, a lo mejor voy a Puerto Rico.

Ingles:

Ann may not come to the party tonight. She isn't feeling well.

Español:

Puede que Ann no venga a la fiesta esta noche. No se siente bien.

2) Futuro continuo

Ingles:	Don't call at 8:30. I may (or might) be watching the football game on TV.
Español:	No llames a las 8:30. Puede que este mirando el partido de futbol en la tele.

2) May as well, might as well: En ingles se utilizan para decir que deberíamos hacer algo, pero solo porque no hay ninguna razón por la cual no hacerlo y porque no hay nada mejor que hacer.

Ingles:	You'll have to wait an hour for the next bus, so you might as well walk.
Español:	Tendras que esperar una hora hasta que pase el próximo autobús, así que más te vale caminar.

Ingles:	We may as well go to the party. We have nothing else to do.
Español:	Más vale que vayamos a la fiesta. No tenemos nada más que hacer.

Fórmula
Afirmativa	Sujeto + may/might + verbo (infinitivo)	He may/might go to the meeting.
Negativa	Sujeto + may/might + not + verbo (infinitivo)	He may/might not go to the meeting.

Recuerda:

May y might significan lo mismo.

Excepciones:

Ninguna.
