Past Simple

Regla fácil:

En ingles se utiliza para hablar de acciones que sucedieron y acabaron en el pasado.

1)	En ingles a menudo los verbos en past simple acaban en "ed" (verbos regulares):

Ejemplo

Ingles:

My brother lived in Ireland for three years.

Español:

Mi hermano vivió en Irlanda por tres años.

2) En ingles muchos verbos son irregulares y no acaban en "ed".

Ejemplo

Ingles:

Mark Twain wrote (to write) many books in his life.

Español:

Mark Twain escribio muchos libros en su vida.

3)	En ingles para frases negativas e interrogativas se utiliza did/didn't + infinitivo.

Ejemplo

Ingles:

He didn't like the food at the restaurant.

Español:

A el no le gusto la comida en el restaurante.

Ingles:	Did Marie finish her studies?
Español:	¿Marie acabó sus estudios?

Fórmula
Afirmativa	sujeto + verbo (Pasado)	You studied English.
Negativa	sujeto + did + not + verbo (infinitivo)	You did not study English.
Interrogativa	did + sujeto + verbo (infinitivo) ?	Did you study English?
Interrogativa Negativa	Did + sujeto + not + verbo (infinitivo) ?	Did you not study English?

Recuerda: En ingles cuando un verbo regular acaba en y esta se convierte a i.

Ejemplo

She studied for many hours. (To study)

Excepciones:

Cuando se utiliza el verbo To be el orden de las frases negativas e interrogativas cambia.
